Born in Iran, raised in California and schooled in NYC, filmmaker and photographer, Robert Hooman graduated from NYU with a BFA in Film/TV production. Robert made the leap into full-time photography after a successful 8 year career as film editor in commercial advertising, film and broadcast, for clients like Saatchi + Saatchi Grey Advertising, @Radical Media, BBDO Worldwide, L’oreal, Visa, Grey Goose, Kimberly Clark, Leffe Beer, sprint, Levitra, etc.
In 2008, he had his fist solo photography show at RIOT manhattan. Since then, his work has continued to pick up momentum, attention and clients.
In 2009, his first full year as a professional photographer, Robert Won a third place prize and 5 honorable mentions at the prestigious Lucie Foundation’s International Photography Awards, Sports Feature Picture of the year from PGB (third place), merit award from the Advertising Photographers of America, Pix Digital Imaging award (lifestyle), PDN self-promotion award (3rd place digital media), two honorable mentions in the alt pick awards, named into American Photography 26 and a special recognition in the 11th Annual Painting, Drawing, Photography & Print Juried Online International Art Exhibition as well as winning 9 IPPA awards.
Robert’s photographs have been published worldwide.
